Bob Rubright

Bob Rubright is a cultural historian, writer, speaker and walker. Since 1992, he’s visited over 1000 different restaurants in the St. Louis area and kept a journal on his observations. He has whittled his list to 85 restaurants to form “The Robert Rubright Collection of Unusual and Overlooked Breakfast and Lunch Places in Missouri and Illinois.” Now, he’s turning his collection into a book, “Breakfast, Lunch and Diner.”

As an active walker, he has written two hiking guidebooks for the St. Louis area, including Walks and Rambles In and Around St. Louis, Weekend Walks in St. Louis and Beyond: 35 Town and Country Walks within 150 Miles of the City and narrated programs for KETC-Channel 9 (PBS) in St. Louis based on his books. He is currently chairman of the board of the American Hiking Society in Washington, D.C.
